Detailed Itinerary
Day 1:
Kampala / Entebbe – Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Your Uganda safari adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from Kampala or Entebbe by your professional Asafina Safaris driver-guide.
Depart westward through Uganda’s scenic countryside, passing rolling hills, tea plantations, traditional villages, and lush landscapes. Enjoy several stopovers along the way for photography and sightseeing as you journey toward Kibale Forest National Park — often referred to as the “Primate Capital of the World.”
Arrive at your lodge in the evening and relax while enjoying the peaceful rainforest surroundings.
Dinner and overnight stay at the safari lodge.
Day 2:
Chimpanzee Tracking – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early breakfast, head to Kibale Forest National Park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your chimpanzee tracking experience.
Kibale Forest is home to over 1,500 chimpanzees as well as numerous other primate species, birds, butterflies, and unique rainforest vegetation. Guided by experienced rangers, venture deep into the forest in search of these intelligent and energetic primates.
Watching chimpanzees interact, communicate, feed, and swing through the forest canopy is a truly remarkable wildlife experience.
After the trek, continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park while enjoying spectacular views of the Rwenzori Mountains, crater lakes, and savannah landscapes.
Arrive at your safari lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3:
Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Wake up early for an exciting morning game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The park is one of Uganda’s most diverse wildlife destinations and is home to elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, hyenas, antelopes, warthogs, and numerous bird species. Your expert safari guide will help track wildlife while sharing fascinating insights about the ecosystem.
Later in the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise along the famous Kazinga Channel — a natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George.
The Kazinga Channel is renowned for its high concentration of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and abundant birdlife along its shores, making it one of Uganda’s finest wildlife viewing experiences.
Dinner and overnight stay at the safari lodge.
Day 4:
Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.
The scenic drive takes you through beautiful countryside landscapes, terraced hills, local villages, and lush tropical forests.
Upon arrival, check in at your safari lodge and spend the rest of the day relaxing in preparation for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.
Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 5:
Gorilla Trekking Experience – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers before beginning your unforgettable gorilla trekking experience.
Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, trek through the dense rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Depending on the gorillas’ location, the trek may take anywhere from one to several hours.
Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat — watching them feed, interact, groom one another, and care for their young.
Gorilla trekking in Uganda is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most emotional and life-changing wildlife experiences.
After the trek, transfer to the breathtaking Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.
Dinner and overnight stay at the lakeside lodge.
Day 6:

After breakfast, enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and stunning scenery of Lake Bunyonyi before beginning your return journey to Kampala or Entebbe.
