Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Tarangire National Park Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, your Asafina Safaris representative will warmly welcome you and transfer you to Tarangire National Park (approx. 2 hours drive).

Famous for its giant elephant herds and iconic ancient baobab trees, Tarangire offers superb wildlife viewing. After lunch and check-in at your luxury lodge, enjoy an exciting afternoon game drive through this beautiful park, home to lions, leopards, giraffes, and over 550 bird species.

Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park Enjoy an early morning game drive in Tarangire before departing for the world-renowned Serengeti National Park (approx. 5–6 hours). The scenic drive takes you through the Ngorongoro Highlands with breathtaking views and possible en-route wildlife sightings.

Arrive at your luxury tented camp in the central Serengeti in the afternoon. Settle in and relax under the vast African sky.

Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti National Park Spend an entire day exploring the endless plains of the Serengeti. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in search of the Big Five, cheetahs, hyenas, and vast herds of plains game.

This is one of the best places in Africa to witness thrilling predator-prey interactions. Enjoy a delicious bush picnic lunch surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Optional Activity (Extra Cost): Sunrise hot air balloon safari over the Serengeti followed by a champagne bush breakfast.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater After a final morning game drive in the Serengeti, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (approx. 3–4 hours). Wind your way up to the crater rim, where you will be rewarded with spectacular panoramic views of the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera.

Relax at your luxury lodge on the crater rim and enjoy the magnificent scenery before dinner.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha Departure After breakfast, descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full morning of game viewing. This natural wildlife arena boasts one of the highest concentrations of animals in Africa, including the Big Five, flamingos, and hippos.

Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool before ascending the crater and driving back to Arusha (approx. 3 hours). You will be transferred to Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport for your departure flight.
