Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional Asafina Safaris driver-guide.

Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a brief tour of Kigali — one of Africa’s cleanest, safest, and most vibrant cities. Visit the renowned Kigali Genocide Memorial and gain insight into Rwanda’s inspiring journey of resilience, unity, and transformation.

After lunch, depart for Volcanoes National Park, located within the scenic Virunga Mountain region. The drive offers breathtaking views of Rwanda’s rolling green hills, charming local villages, and picturesque countryside landscapes.

Arrive at your safari lodge in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing by experienced park rangers before beginning your unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure.

Accompanied by professional guides and trackers, venture deep into the misty rainforest in search of one of the habituated mountain gorilla families. Depending on the gorillas’ movements, the trek may take anywhere from a few hours to most of the day.

Depending on your flight schedule, you may enjoy optional shopping, local markets, or additional city excursions before being transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
