Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve Your Asafina Safaris representative will welcome you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your Nairobi hotel. Drive north to Samburu National Reserve (approx. 5 hours) with a scenic stop in Nanyuki.

Arrive at your luxury lodge for lunch and settle in. In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive at 4 PM, capturing the unique wildlife and striking arid landscapes in beautiful evening light.

Day 2: Full Day Photography in Samburu National Reserve Spend the full day exploring Samburu’s semi-arid wilderness. Take advantage of the soft morning and evening light for photography. This reserve offers excellent opportunities to photograph Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, and other dry-country specialists against dramatic scenery.

Day 3: Samburu to Meru National Park After breakfast, drive to Meru National Park, enjoying the transition from arid landscapes to lush, green hills. Arrive in time for lunch at your intimate camp.

Day 5: Meru to Ol Pejeta Conservancy After breakfast, drive (approx. 4 hours) to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Arrive for lunch and enjoy the stunning views of Mount Kenya (weather permitting).

In the afternoon, embark on an evening game drive with excellent opportunities to photograph black and white rhinos, lions, and the conservancy’s beautiful savannah landscapes.

Day 7: Ol Pejeta to Lake Nakuru National Park Drive south (approx. 3 hours) to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive for lunch, then enjoy an afternoon game drive along the lakeshore. Capture spectacular flocks of flamingos, white rhinos, and diverse wildlife in beautiful afternoon light.
